Potatoes

Filed under: News — admin @ 11:43 am

A ton of potatoes, 2700 pounds to be exact, made their way into the hands of hungry patrons of local food pantries this fall.

With donations from the United Methodist Men and East Jordan Church, ten food distributing organizations received the savory spuds. These organizations included the Methodist Church of Morrison, the Prophetstown Legion, First Baptist Church in Como, The Rock River Chirstian Center, Firehouse Ministries, Nazarene Church, First Open Bible Church, the Salvation Army, the Dixon Food Pantry, and Polo Lifeline.

Lewis Beggs and Matthew Deets generously gave their time to picking up the bags of potatoes from St. Andrew’s in Thompson and delivering them across Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside counties.
